This is the release of the first EFDVD Peter Gabriel DVD by the Epping Forest group. All footage taken from master PAL VHS tapes from broadcast. Sleeve notes: Our first Peter Gabriel release is an update of a classic documentary, coupled with some less well known but equally interesting interview footage. The South Bank Show documentary on Disc 1 was first broadcast in 1982 on the ITV network in the UK and offers a fascinating glimpse of Peter at work in his studio. The show takes us right from demo versions of songs created solely by Peter and producer David Lord, and with exotic working titles like "Jung In Africa", to the nearly finished articles, including the live premiere of some tracks at the Womad festival. This new version is taken from a PAL master tape and is hopefully the best you will see. Disc 2 starts off with two short interview pieces from the BBC, the first being from the "Old Grey Whistle test" in 1982 where Peter talks about Womad and the previous week's "Six Of The Best" show at Milton keynes. The second is from "Whistle Test" in 1986, showing Peter at home again in his studio and featuring a lovely solo piano version of "Red Rain". Fast forward to 1989, and Peter is again being interviewed, this time in the "One To One" Programme. He talks at length about his career, his life and his videos, and it's well worth a watch, if only to marvel at the incredible hairstyle Peter is wearing at the time!
